The municipal of Boxmeer is located at the brink of Noord-Brabant, adjacent to the Maas, has over 29.000 residents and covers an area of 11.400 ha. The municipal consists of eleven towns, Boxmeer, Beugen, Groeningen, Holthees, Maashees, Oeffelt, Overloon, Rijkevoort, Sambeek, Vierlingsbeek and Vortum-Mullem.
